Supermag Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in 2022 in the core area of the Greater Neo Bay in Minhang District, Shanghai. It is a spin-off enterprise of Shanghai Jiao Tong University dedicated to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Supermag Tech possesses a globally professional R&D team for high-temperature superconducting tapes, production equipment, and fabrication technology. It is a start-up enterprise providing key basic raw materials for future industries such as new-generation power transmission, fusion energy, superconducting maglev trains, advanced medical equipment, and large scientific facilities. 

The entrepreneurial team of the company has been dedicated to the R&D of HTS for nearly 20 years. They have led over 20 national and provincial-level projects related to superconducting materials, published more than 300 academic papers, and hold over 20 domestic and international patents. They have also taken the lead in formulating and revising two national standards. The company has experts, scholars, and senior engineers from top universities worldwide, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of Geneva (Switzerland), Technical University of Denmark, and Tohoku University (Japan). The team has rich industrialized engineering experience and original accumulation of core processes, and is capable of providing high-performance, cost-effective, and independently controllable mass-produced HTS tapes for a wide range of applications. 

The company has received over 18 million USD investment from well-known investment institutions. The company is collaborating with the technical team of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to tackle key issues in the localization of critical raw materials and core equipment, ultra-high-speed deposition processes, and advanced detection technologies. 

Up to now, the company has been awarded the qualifications of an innovative SME in Shanghai, a science and technology-based SME in Shanghai, a specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative (SRDI) SME in Shanghai, and a technology new star enterprise in Greater Neo Bay. Moreover, it has received special fund support from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology for the "High-performance High-temperature Superconducting Ceramic Materials Industrialization Project".
