Hastelloy-based substrate used for HTS tapes need to meet strict technical parameters and require customized process of metal rolling

heat treatment, slitting, polishing and etc, reduce the thickness of substrate to 30-50 µm and lower the surface roughness to the nano-scale level.

Supermag collaborated with several domestic suppliers to develop high-performance substrate, which have been successfully applied. 

The single length of substrate exceeds 1 km, thicknesses of 30-50 µm are available for selection, with a roughness of less than 5 nm. 

The surface of substrate could further be processed through mechanical polishing or electro-polishing.
